About Wird

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Purpose

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of all worlds. Wird (وِرْد) - meaning "daily practice" or "daily portion" - is a humble application created to help Muslims connect with the words of Allah through daily reflection on the verses of the Holy Quran. May Allah accept this effort and make it a means of guidance for all who use it.

About the Creator

This app was created by Ali Raza, as a personal effort to stay connected with the Quran on a daily basis.

Like many of us, I have struggled with maintaining a consistent relationship with the Holy Quran in the midst of daily life. This app was born from that struggle - a simple tool to make it easier to read and reflect on at least one ayah every day, with the hope that it would help not just myself, but others facing the same challenge.

My 8-year-old daughter also helped me with this project. May Allah reward her for her efforts and bless her with knowledge, wisdom, and a lifelong connection with the Quran.

Note: This app will remain completely free for as long as I am around to maintain it, insha'Allah. It is a sadaqah jariyah (ongoing charity) and will never require payment or display advertisements.

May Allah make this a means of continuous connection with His words for all of us.

Credits & Acknowledgments

This application would not be possible without the generous work of others who have made Islamic resources freely available:

  • Al Quran Cloud API - For providing the Quranic text and translations
  • Islamic Network CDN - For hosting the beautiful recitations
  • Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy - For his beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran

We take no credit for the content. We are merely facilitating access to these blessed words. All errors are our own, and all good is from Allah alone.

Request for Dua

If this app has benefited you in any way, we humbly request that you remember us, our families, and all Muslims in your prayers. May Allah guide us all to the straight path, increase us in knowledge and faith, grant us understanding of His words, and protect our children and raise them as righteous believers.

"Our Lord, accept this from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing." (Quran 2:127)
